Job description
We are now looking for a Senior AI Engineer to help build powerful multimodal models and large-scale training systems that operate on both optical/multispectral and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data. This is a balanced role-part research, part engineering, all impact The work will involve both research-style tasks and practical engineering work. As a Senior AI Engineer, you will drive the development of state-of-the-art AI systems that can learn from and reason about large volumes of satellite imagery.
Your challenge
- Design and prototype multimodal architectures that combine optical and SAR inputs;
- Explore or adapt emerging foundation models for remote sensing tasks;
- Benchmark different modeling strategies and evaluate performance across diverse datasets;
- Build scalable training pipelines including tiling, sampling, augmentations, and distributed training workflows;
- Optimize pipelines for throughput, memory, and cost using Databricks, PyTorch Lightning, and MLflow;
- Automate experimentation, tracking, and comparison using MLflow and Databricks;
- Ensure your models and pipelines integrate smoothly into LiveEO's production systems.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Python?, * Strong Python engineering fundamentals with clean, maintainable coding style;
- Deep experience with PyTorch and PyTorch Lightning;
- Experience implementing and training deep learning models at scale;
- Strong understanding of ML experimentation, versioning, and tracking via MLflow and Databricks;
- Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and optimization skills;
- Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms;
- Geospatial experience is highly preferred, including tools such as GDAL, Rasterio, GeoPandas, STAC, and basic SAR preprocessing libraries.
