Job description
You'll become part of either our Developer Experience (DevEx), our Infrastructure (Infra) team, or our AppSec team, joining a shared journey that matters! You will be part of the domain that provides the platform for all other teams to build and run their software. The Platform Engineering domain is at the heart of MOIA and consists of three pillars:
- Our DevEx team focuses on the developer experience. We identify underlying challenges, build tools that empower as many devs as possible, and listen closely to the feedback we receive.
- Our Infra team builds and maintains the foundational, scalable, and reliable infrastructure on which all our services run. We provide the core building blocks on AWS and Kubernetes, enabling teams to operate without worrying about the underlying complexity. On top of this, we help the teams by consulting them on AWS and Kubernetes-based solutions and delivering best practices. We keep the balance between reasonable guardrails and creative freedom. If things go south, we take over incident command and aren't afraid to get our hands dirty. While our work is hardly visible to MOIA's customers, we are part of the backbone-the glue that keeps the service running smoothly.
- Our AppSec team champions the security of our product landscape. We focus on Application and Cloud Security, partnering with development teams to integrate security best practices early in the lifecycle. We provide the tooling and expertise to detect vulnerabilities and design secure architectures without slowing down innovation. We believe in "shifting left" and help teams navigate the landscape of compliance and threat prevention.
What you will do
- Deliver tools, shared infrastructure, and platform guardrails that pave a "Golden Path" for our developers, focusing on security, compliance, and efficiency.
- Design, implement, and manage innovative services, development tools, and core infrastructure components that automate internal tasks.
- Build, manage, and evolve our core infrastructure on AWS and our Kubernetes clusters, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and observable.
- Conduct threat modeling sessions and support teams with security architecture reviews to identify risks early.
- Ensure these solutions are reliable, developer-friendly, secure, and fit for purpose.
- Collaborate effectively within your team, with fellow members of technology and your wider stakeholder community., * You have experience with security automation in modern CI/CD environments and familiar with cloud security best practices (specifically AWS).
Requirements
- You support a blameless culture and solve problems with other teams, possessing an agile mindset and experience in agile methods.
- Having a background as a Software Engineer who has built developer-centric products is a plus.
- You understand what developers love and how modern solutions should be designed, enjoying solving problems and integrating different perspectives.
- You have strong programming skills, ideally in languages like Go or Typescript, embrace the "you build it, you run it, you own it" mentality, and are passionate about cloud services such as AWS.
- You have deep hands-on experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes) and Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform).
- You have experience with architecting, building, and running highly available production systems with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- You have experience with pair programming and the agile software development process.
We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds- even if you don't meet every requirement. If you're excited about the role and MOIA's mission, we'd love to hear from you!
