Job description

The Scrum Master and Front Arena Practitioner plays a dual role in driving both technical excellence and agile ways of working within high-performing development teams. This unique position combines servant leadership in agile delivery with Front Arena trading platform management experience.

In the Agile Team Facilitator capacity, you will enable high-performing teams by fostering collaboration, proactively removing impediments, and championing a culture of continuous improvement.

You will be responsible for embedding agile principles and practices across the team and broader organisation, ensuring effective execution through structured ceremonies, transparent communication, and strong facilitation skills., * Coach Scrum teams in Agile and SAFe practices; facilitate ceremonies (Sprint/PI Planning, stand-ups, retrospectives)

  • Enable team self-organisation, backlog health, and continuous improvement using Jira and Lean-Agile methods
  • Remove impediments, monitor team performance (lead time, quality), and support PI planning and ART alignment
  • Promote agile maturity across GPS in partnership with Scrum Masters, POs, and leadership
  • Support Front Arena teams to enable optimal team performance
  • Work closely with Developers, Product Owners, Traders, Risk, Mid-/Backoffice and Quants to deliver value efficiently
  • Support change management, release planning, and compliance with firm-wide risk and regulatory standards
  • Uphold integrity, due diligence, and fair dealing in line with Julius Baer's values
  • Contribute to long-term software strategy and engineering culture within GPS

Requirements

  • 5+ years as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach in financial services, with direct experience in trading environments considered a distinct advantage
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Business Admin, or related field.
  • Solid understanding of Front Arena environment management, including Windows OS administration and in-depth knowledge of Front Arena components and workflows
  • Knowledge of equity derivatives, structured products, and end-to-end trading flows
  • Understanding of market data, trading platforms, and risk systems
  • Able to communicate technical topics clearly to non-technical stakeholders
  • SAFe Scrum Master certification is advantageous
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and facilitation skills
  • Solution-focused, proactive, and driven to improve processes
  • Strong collaborator with global, cross-functional teams
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and performs well under pressure
  • Demonstrates a strong personality with the ability to challenge the status quo and initiate difficult conversations to drive process and workflow improvements
